My take on the knitted doll pattern from the book “Knitted Babes” by Claire Garland. I used to pore over this book from the library as a tween and imagine different doll designs… before I felt ambitious and skilled enough to attempt to make any. All these years later this book popped into my head and I searched for it again and was able to make one!
I gave her button eyes instead of felt and opted for no mouth. Hair is Lion Brand Homespun in “Candy Apple,” body was done in Woolike Yarn by Loops & Threads in “Dark Brown,” buttons are random vintage ones and dress is a vintage doll’s wrap dress that just happened to also fit this doll (I haven’t made clothes yet and it felt rude to leave her naked!).
My favorite part is the little loopy bangs. I think she looks like a Percy (with a full name like Persephone). She likes gardening, Edward Hopper paintings, and investigative dramedies led by “opposites-attract” duos.
